  i desire to be buried in the plot of ground owned by our society, in the rosemont united cemetery, and all the details of arrangements respecting the funeral service i leave in the care of my sister, mrs. m. m. land, and her daughters, alice and may, or such of them as may survive me, with the assistance and advice and cooperation of the brethren, as they may request the same.

  instead of an ordinary funeral discourse, i request that they arrange to have a number of the brethren, accustomed to public speaking, make a few remarks each, that the service be very simple and inexpensive and that it be conducted in the bible house chapel or any other place that may be considered equally appropriate or more so.

  This is just an embarrasing reminder that the Cult started out as a Cult. (shhhh, don't tell anyone) Supposedly my in-law never even knew about the pyramid thing, and she was a witness for 20+ years(and still playing with the Cult).

  just another thread to find out the popular opinion on what happened to the dinosaurs.there are several popular theories such as meteor shower ,super volcanoes or solar flares i'm open to any and all theories or new findings .personally i go with the meteor shower one .the dinosaur represents the most successful time in the history of our planet where life flourished for untold millenium only to become extinct seemingly over night.any opinions are welcome ,thank you for any participation.

  Who is the “Lord” mentioned in Romans 10:12, the Lord Jesus Christ or the Lord Jehovah?
  Romans 10:12 reads: “For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for there is the same Lord over all, who is rich to all those calling upon him.” The identity of the one referred to as “Lord” cannot be established with certainty from the context.
  Throughout the centuries Bible scholars have not been in agreement as to whether Paul meant the Lord Jesus Christ or the Lord Jehovah. Romans 10:9 definitely refers to Jesus Christ as Lord, and the quotation from Isaiah 28:16 found in Romans 10:11, “None that rests his faith on him will be disappointed,” also applies to Jesus. So if Romans 10:11 is to be directly linked with the Lord of Romans 10:12, the Lord referred to is Jesus Christ.
  On the other hand, in Romans 10:9 Paul speaks of ‘exercising faith in your heart that God raised him up from the dead.’ This shows that faith in Jehovah God is also essential for salvation. Furthermore, Romans 10:13, a quotation from Joel 2:32, reads: “For ‘everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved.’” Hence, if the calling on the Lord referred to in Romans 10:12 is the same as in Romans 10:13, Jehovah God is the Lord being referred to by Paul. The thought would then be the same as that expressed at Romans 3:29: “Is he the God of the Jews only? Is he not also of people of the nations? Yes, of people of the nations also.”

  the may 15 issue of the watchtower contains a discussion of the question: would it be advisable for a true christian to attend a funeral or a wedding in a church?.

  the tone of the wts view is set in the very first line our taking part in any form of false religion is displeasing to jehovah and must be avoided.

  nonetheless the last line of the article states whatever the situation, the christian should make sure that the decision will not interfere with his preserving a good conscience before god and men.. so apparently it's a personal decision for the jw as to whether he/she will attend a funeral in a church or not.

  Ozzie, its all part of mind control. I do not know what the correct word is for it, but here it is:

  Ever notice that WT literature asks a lot of questions in its statements?, and from the surrounding text you can only come up with one answer. I have noticed this many times over. Yet if they had asked a different question, you would have a different answer and a different view to the same topic.

  Next time you read an article from WT, see how vmany questions are asked and if the statement made supports the question.

  Well Avenger, thanks for the thread.

  I wish I could personally close the WT doors, it would be very satisfying. I beleive I would be doing soceity a good thing. Unfortunately many people beleive in the religion/cult and would probably freak out if such a thing happened. My guess is there would be a lot of suicides.

  My statement is straight-forward and true, bottom line.
